Built for Gordon Pollard of Henderson & Pollard Timber merchants Aramoana is of three-skin kauri diagonal construction with a double skin deck. She was launched in 1938 and has raced for many years with the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and the Devonport Yacht Club.
In 1989 she was given a major refit by Jim and Jenni McGlashan. They removed some of the changes that had been made over the years and restored her to her original
condition. The name Aramoana means "pathway of the ocean". She is now owned by Chris Gudgeon and is based in Auckland.
