Classic Yacht Association Policy
The Classic Yacht Association cordially invites you to join our Association.
The Association was first formed in 1995 and now attracts over 200 members from around the country and overseas.
Membership is open to all and includes both classic and modern classic vessel owners, plus other non sailing members who are interested in historic and classic vessels.
Aims and Aspirations:
To encourage the restoration, preservation, and ownership of Classic Yachts and Launches
To organise events for Classic Yachts, Modern Classic Yachts and Launches, and admirers.
To increase public awareness of Classic Yachts, Motor Yachts and Launches and their history.
Events:
The Championship Points Series which involves racing with most of Auckland’s prominent yacht clubs.
Social Meetings on the second Tuesday of the month at the Royal NZ Yacht Squadron from 6:30pm.
Launch division cruises, rallies and barbecues take place throughout the season, refer Launch forum section for details.

Membership types:
Full Member
A Full Member is defined as being not encompassed by any other Membership classification
Country Member A Country Member is defined as living outside the geographical area bordered by a line from Orere Point (Firth of Thames) across to Port Waikato’s southern headland and by a line from Orewa across to Helensville township.
Overseas Member
An Overseas membership is avaliable to those living outside New Zealand
Veteran Member
A Veteran member is defined as having reached the age of 70 years (or more) as at 1 July of any membership year.
Youth Member
A Youth member is defined as not reaching his/her 18th birthday as at 1 July of any membership year.
