The summer of 2008/09 has seen the largest number of classic vessels gracing the Waitemata in decades. December saw 26 classics assemble for the reenactment of the historic running of The Rudder Cup, an event that will become the launch fleets iconic event.
We currently have 75+ boats on the launch registrar and are experiencing double figure growth as the boating world wakes up to the joys of classic launch ownership.
2009/10 is the year we get our house in order, stage one was identifying that our hard working Launch Captain – Ian Gavin, needed some help, to this end we have assembled a committee (see below) to oversee the rejuvenation of the launch division.
Planning is currently underway to put together a series of shore based events over the coming winter that will have appeal to launch owners, enthusiasts and their families.
